What are the advantages of locknuts?

Anti-loosening principle of the anti-loosening nut: The upper part of the conventional 60-degree tooth tip has a 30-degree wedge surface. This structure allows to increase the friction between the male thread and the female thread and subsequently between the male thread and the female thread. Since the bolt is tightened with a nut, it has the effect of preventing loosening. There are four ways to prevent loosening of the lock nut: friction lock, mechanical nut lock, rivet lock, and structure lock lock.
What are the advantages of locknuts?
1. Anti-vibration performance: The normal force generated when tightening the anti-loosening nut is much greater than that of the ordinary standard nut, which has excellent anti-loosing and anti-vibration properties.
2. Good repetitive performance: After long-term use, the locking force will not decrease, even if the locking nut is tightened and removed repeatedly, the original locking effect can still be maintained.
3. Strong wear resistance and shear resistance: The bottom surface of the nut thread is inclined at 30°, so that the nut locking force is evenly distributed on all threads on each tooth. Therefore, because the compression force of the thread surface of each tooth is uniform, the nut can better solve the problems of screw wear and shear deformation.
In addition, the locknut requires a preset torque, and a relatively large installation torque is required for installation. In this process, it is easy to produce "bite" or "lock" phenomenon. If it is locked, it can only be solved by cutting bolts and other damages. Before installation, pay attention to the lubrication of the nut (wax or other resin loosening agent) to reduce the installation torque and speed. This can effectively reduce the locking of the lock nut.
