Types of Metric Nuts

Nuts are hardware accessories used to secure fasteners together. They provide a solid connection, prevent loosening of bolts and studs and hold high loads for years at a time.
Metric nuts are available in a wide range of sizes, shapes and types for many applications and projects. They are designed to mate with metric hex bolts and screws for strong and reliable joint connections.
Hex Nuts are the most common type of nut, as they have coarse and fine machine screw threads that match up with the external threads of bolts, screws, studs and threaded rods. Finished nuts come in a variety of finishes for increased corrosion resistance.
Jam Nuts are thin hex nuts that have the same coarse and fine machine screw threads as hex nuts, but they are smaller in size and may not hold as much force or torque as the full-size hex nuts. They are typically used with small machine screws to save space or as a "jam" nut to create a locking action when attached to a hex nut.
Flange Nuts are extra-long hex nuts that have right-hand coarse machine screw threads at each end and can be used to connect two threaded rods or hanger bolts. They also have a protruding circular flange that accommodates oversized holes and are commonly used in machinery applications.
Threaded Bolts are also a common metric nut, and they have the same internal threads as hex nuts, but with different diameters and lengths. The body length of the bolt is measured from the point where the shank meets the head and the thread pitch is also included in the size specification if it's not otherwise omitted.
